Return to TDR EB guide base window

Position matching relies on mapping each detector pixel onto an abstract coordinate space, using the positive quadrant, quantised in units of 0.1mm.

Depending on detector type, the matching is either by lookup table or applied function.

The lookup table consists of a value for each detector element together with a separate origin for X and Y, which are combined to produce the required value.

The functional form provides the parameters to the hardwired function, specific for that detector type, defaulting to a standard quadratic.

The mapping data is provided in a file per detector type in the subdirectory posmaps of the setup directory. A template of file formats can be generated by copying the files from /MIDAS/TDR/EventBuilder/config/posmaps.

The Position Matching parameters may be viewed and modified on a detector by detector basis by clicking on the Posn matching button in the Cluster Setup window, having already selected a Cluster from the cluster list to the left.
The parameter file is read on every entry to the window.
The file is only altered if the Save current Setup button is clicked.

Any requirement changes from the above description should be notified to software support.
