High Voltage for GREAT
HIGH VOLTAGE for GREAT

The GREAT project is due for commissioning in 2001 at Jyväskylä, Finland. A set of technical documents on GREAT is provided by the Nuclear Physics Support Group at Daresbury.

For the High Voltage, we are commissioning a CAEN SY1527 High Voltage power supply which has the following features:

Houses both high voltage boards and "branch controllers" for 512/1024 remote channels per slot.
Full communication compatibility with previous models.
Available in different versions both for lab and large-scale experiments.
Modular and expandable system power supplies
Live insertion of boards.
Programmable handling of parameters and errors.
Fast and accurate setting/monitoring of channel parameters.
Sophisticated channels trip handling.
Multilevel management of user profiles.
Communications via RS232, H.S. CAENET, CERN-approved fieldbuses and Ethernet (TCP/IP).
Optical links available for remote communications.
Synchronization with external signals.
