  • 233U, 235U and 239Pu undergo fission with slow neutrons.  These are called fissiles.
  • The other common nuclides are 232Th and 238U, require fast neutrons and in fact have a threshold at about 1 MeV; below this fission does not occur.  These are called fissionable.
