Throwing a die
Previous Up Next

Probability of outcome

P(1) = P(2) = P(3) = P(4) = P(5) = P(6) = 1/6

So total probability = 1

Toss a die and see how often you get e.g. a six.

If you toss it a large number of times the probability of getting a six (number of sixes / Total) gets closer to the expected value of 1/6.

If you toss several (n) dice together (n < 5) you can ask what is the chance of getting, e.g. different number of sixes. Try this on the next page.
