Total Routhian Surface (TRS) codes
The TRS concept is discussed in
Refs. [1,
2,
3].
Deformation self-consistent ``meshes''
(,
,
,
) for specific N and Z have been calculated.
The Total Routhian Surface mesh files (binary) are stored in the directory
/net/nsb/spec3/esp/trs/meshes
(note that most of the files are compressed).
We have three meshes for (approximately) 110<A<140 nuclei
(``barium'' mesh
[2]),
130<A<170 nuclei
(``neodymium'' mesh
[3]),
and A~180 nuclei
(``platinum'' mesh
[4]).
The filenames are of the form
n_nd75.dat - i.e. neutrons from the Nd mesh and 75
of them. Since the setup for different
mass regions is different, each mass region is specified by an input
parameter IMESH.
Some properties of the meshes are shown below:
The X and Y values are related to and
through
Our barium and neodymium meshes (N=2)
each have two levels of a given parity and signature, while the
platinum mesh (N
=4) has four levels of a given
parity and signature.
The program gamlatzn (FORTRAN on nsb) extracts the results for a specific quasiparticle configuration in a given nucleus. Example command files for the three meshes are shown below and described in more detail here.

Before running, you must uncompress the mesh files and make sure the filenames are all lower case. Leave the mesh files in the directory /net/nsb/spec3/esp/trs/meshes, everyone has access to them.
