Compton continuumDuring Compton scattering, a gamma-ray photon is scattered with a scattering angle in the range of 0 to 180°. The energy transferred to the recoil electron is dependent on the scattering angle of the gamma-ray. A continuum of energies can be transferred to the recoil electron resulting in the Compton continuum. The incident gamma-ray energy is shown in the detected energy spectrum below at Eg. |
