Fast neutronMost neutron sources emit neutrons in the range 1 to 15 MeV. These are called fast neutrons. Subsequent scattering (moderation) reduces their energies first to epithermal and finally to the thermal range. Very fast neutrons have energies in excess of about 10 MeV. |
